Not too long ago, BioWare announced that Anthem’s public demo exceeded the studio’s expectations, with the developer going on to state that it received an “overwhelmingly positive” response from the community as a whole. With the title’s demo period in the rear view and with its launch being imminent, Electronic Arts and BioWare have now decided to team up with Microsoft and offer a deal for those who might be in the market for a new system and its upcoming game by releasing an Anthem Xbox One S bundle....

Apex Legends, the recently released free-to-play battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe, really came out of nowhere. The game hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One just a couple of days ago, and has already amassed millions of players in the short time it’s been available, and has been met with a mostly positive reception by fans online. Crossplay came to Apex Legends last May in the mid-Season 9 update, but what about cross-progression (or cross-save, or whatever you want to call it)? A patent filed by Apple suggests that the company may be working on a new cloud gaming service. The patent, which was spotted by Patently Apple, was seemingly filed in February but was only recently published in Europe. It’s titled “Enabling Interactive Service for Cloud Rendering Gaming in 5G Systems” and it largely focuses on the technology of how cloud gaming would work over a mobile connection. “The controls and button-presses from the user’s computing device are transmitted to the server, where they are recorded, and the server then sends back the game’s response to the input controls,” reads part of the patent....

Beating Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is no small task. The game can theoretically be done in the 50-60 hour range, but knocking out everything is a trial that will take over 120 hours, easily. Ubisoft confirms that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will use the Xbox Series X Smart Delivery feature when it releases in holiday 2020. In February, CD Projekt RED also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would use Xbox Series X Smart Delivery, letting fans get a free upgrade. If Assassin’s Creed Valhalla supports Xbox Series X Smart Delivery, then it is much more likely that Ubisoft’s other, in-development titles will also use it. The developer has confirmed plans to bring Watch Dogs Legion to next-gen consoles, though the game has been delayed with no new release date announced....

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla finds itself at as a crossroads for the franchise. It leverages much of the beloved content of old with much of the newer RPG elements, while also including a story deeply involved with the Hidden Ones and, arguably, even the birth of the modern-day Templar Order. It’s a tight-rope walk that the game manages to nail more often than not, but one overlooked decision actually bodes well for the franchise as a whole moving forward, and perhaps, assasssins like Amunet as well....
