Every great game franchise has their face, and Nintendo’s Animal Crossing isn’t any different. Since New Horizons was released earlier in the spring, the game has grown to be one of the most popular titles of 2020. Even those who have yet to pick up Animal Crossing will have heard of the series by now. Many will have also seen some of the familiar faces associated to the game, from villager Raymond to Isabelle and Tom Nook....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting another fresh batch of bugs this month, and although it won’t feature as many new critters as July’s hefty batch of 21, they’re still worth looking forward to. A large array of fish, sea creatures, and insects rotate in and out of the game with new rosters popping up each month, which also includes new catching and selling price windows. The rotations are in accordance with seasonal changes in real life (a particularly cool feature of the game), so this means that players will be able to get their nets on different bugs depending on which hemisphere they reside in....

If you’ve been diligent in catching all of the new bugs and fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons each month since its release, you’ll likely notice how you’ve almost completed the entire fish section of the critterpedia while the bug section is falling behind. The bugs are set to make a comeback in July. This is likely the largest amount of new bugs in one month in Animal Crossing for the entire year....

Kingdom Hearts is a franchise that is loved by Final Fantasy and Disney fans alike. Last week it came to light that EA has been granted a patent that would allow it to use matchmaking in order to keep players engaged for longer and, potentially, sell them more microtransactions. Many feared that the technology would be used in upcoming sci-fi RPG Anthem as that game is being published by EA too. On Reddit, one fan warned others off the game, suggesting that EA could “adjust difficulty on the fly” or pair players “with players we have no business being paired with” as part of the patent....

We’ve seen a lot of Assassins spanning many different centuries within the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but two, in particular, come to mind when we think of the best: Altair Ibn-La’Ahad of Levant, and Ezio Auditore da Firenze of Florence. Although the two men couldn’t be any more different, both set a precedent for the strong bloodline of assassins that would come after them. With the franchise reaching new milestones in recent releases like Origins and Odyssey, as well as the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it’s easy to forget just why Altair and Ezio drew us into this world of Templars and Assassins in the first place....

Although all eyes are on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey being a headliner for the Google Stadia game list, the remastered Assassin’s Creed 3 is set to hit PC and consoles in the coming days. And for those picking it up, as either part of the Odyssey season pass or as a standalone title, PC players will be delighted to know that developer and publisher Ubisoft have revealed the minimum and recommended specifications and requirements to run it....

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has a somewhat contradictory premise, at least on the surface. Pirates are often depicted as loud, drunken, eccentric men out for gold and glory. Assassins, especially as depicted in the series so far, are generally honor bound, silent and agile shadows. The two are near polar opposites in terms of their stereotypical depictions and the historical context for each is equally distant making the concept for the game quite an oxymoronic amalgam....

Wrath of the Druids is the first major expansion for Ubisoft’s smash hit Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Set on the Emerald Isle, Wrath of the Druids tasks you with investigating a curious Irish conspiracy, which mainly transpires over a lengthy main quest but is also complemented by a variety of side missions. Given how long the main game is, a lot of people are wondering how long it takes to beat Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids....

Just as EA Sports falters with its recent release of NHL 15, 2K Sports seemingly takes advantage of the moment by bringing back its NHL 2K series that it shelved a few years ago, with one small catch: the new game is for iOS and Android only, not consoles. 2K Games did have a mobile version of its console title in 2010, but this game looks to be much more than just a roster update....

As part of Comic-Con @ Home, 2K Games has uploaded a new 14-minute trailer for Mafia: Definitive Edition today. A remake of the 2002 classic, this updated take on the mafioso story looks suitably modern, for better or worse. Developer Hangar 13 has taken lessons it learned from the development of Mafia 3 and applied them to this reimagining of the game that started the series. The trailer not only gives us a look at how cutscenes have been reworked but shows us some typical triple-A style shootouts....

Originally slated for a Christmas 2011 release, fresh details on Kinect Star Wars, previously Star Wars Kinect, have been more elusive than the dark side of the force. After an uninspiring preview at E3 2011, gameplay footage has been especially hard to come across - with LucasArts releasing live-action comedy skits in place of an actual look at the game. However, with a confirmed release date of April 3rd, 2012, alongside the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars console bundle, we’re finally getting an (unofficial) sneak peek at the various game modes included in the Xbox 360 exclusive title....

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 saw the Zombies community frustrated for several reasons. Not only were some players against the idea of splitting the maps between the Aether story and the new Chaos story, but a new perk system that removed fan favorites like Juggernog was divisive. The game also launched in a heavily buggy state, with plentiful crashes turning several content creators away from the mode. Still, there are some bright spots with a few Chaos maps being excellent, and the Aether story’s writing staying strong even though its maps were all remakes....
