Former Assassin’s Creed Valhalla creative director Ashraf Ismail has been fired by Ubisoft following an investigation into misconduct allegations made against Ismail. “Following an investigation by an external firm, it was determined that Ashraf’s employment with Ubisoft had to be terminated,” reads a statement from Ubisoft (acquired by Kotaku). “We cannot provide any details about this confidential investigation.” The allegations in question involve women who stated that Ismail has pursued extramarital relationships by utilizing his power and position at Ubisoft....

With Destiny 2 constantly and rapidly expanding, and rumors of a third game coming into the picture, players who have been around from the start are feeling a bit nostalgic for the simplicity of the game when it first came out, problems and all. There were a lot of problems that occurred in year 1 of Destiny 1, some, like glitches and over-powered weapons, will be a constant in gameplay. Others are possibly gone forever, whether players are happy or not....

The name of the next Need for Speed game has been leaked online. We knew that EA was working on a new Need for Speed game from an investor announcement last February. We were hoping to get a bit of a teaser at this year’s E3 festivities, but no such luck. We didn’t even get a name. Players of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends seem to be having a blast with Season 6. Apple has confirmed that it intends to increase the price of App Store apps and in-app purchases in some countries, including the United Kingdom. Apple announced the price hikes in a post to developers, saying that prices in the “App Store will increase in Colombia, Egypt, Hungary, Nigeria, Norway, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.” Prices in Uzbekistan will decrease, however, thanks to a reduction in the local value-added tax rate from 15 per cent to 12 per cent....

A new DLC was just released for Ark: Survival Evolved called Genesis Part 2, and it introduces a new resource called Mutagen. You might also come across another resource called Mutagel, and these go hand-in-hand. It can be hard to obtain Mutagen and Mutagel if you don’t know where to look, but it is easier to find than you might think. Mutagen has several uses that relate directly to your tames, which is why it is a necessity in Genesis Part 2....

Digital board game publisher Asmodee Digital announced a new adventure game called Arkham Horror: Mother’s Embrace today. The game, based on the popular board game Arkham Horror, was previously revealed under the title Mansions of Madness: Mother’s Embrace. Set in the fictional New England town of Arkham in the 1920s, the Asmodee Digital board game pits up to five players against the cosmic terrors of H.P. Lovecraft. Each player controls an investigator to fight off cultists and monsters, research clues, and try to hold on to their sanity in an effort to stop the emergence of an Elder God....

In August 2020, the Assassin’s Creed Sisterhood formed after mistreatment after mistreatment of female characters, developers, and voice actors was revealed. It is a self-described “community initiative to highlight and appreciate the women of AC, in the games, the dev teams and community.” Game Rant recently sat down (virtual) with Assassin’s Creed Sisterhood founder Kulpreet Virdi, with the conversation having one clear focus: moving forward. As a result, it was important to discuss the past and present of Assassin’s Creed and its marketing, but all in the goal of discussing the industry as a whole leaving behind many of the sexist behaviors found throughout it....

In recent weeks, reports of a toxic workplace at Ubisoft have surfaced, leading to the resignation of Chief Creative Officer Serge Hascoet. He had the power to change, greenlight, or cancel any creative projects, with there being the strange indication of “gate” meetings where he was the “gatekeeper.” His ousting, if followed up properly, may lead to some real change at Ubisoft, but at the very least for now, many are speaking up about the representation of the Assassin’s Creed franchise’s female characters, most recently Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Elise....
