When it came out in 1997, Starship Troopers was not an immediate success. It was lambasted by contemporary critics, and it took a few years before the public warmed up to this odd movie. I think half of what makes a movie or TV series good are the characters. You can have an amazing plot and awesome effects/animation, but if your characters are dull or cliché, you’re going to have a hard time keeping the audience engaged.
