When it comes to games that have made a huge impact in recent years, Skyrim would be far up on anyone’s list. And it’s no wonder why; Bethesda really outdid themselves on this one. They created a huge fantasy world with an almost countless amount of things to do, with an emphasis on letting the player do whatever they desire. Whether that be playing as a heroic warrior, a skulking life-taker, or anything in-between, players and critics alike lauded Skyrim for its open nature....

New consoles release all the time, with most releases going under the radar of mainstream gamers. But, just because a console isn’t released by Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Some third-party consoles turned out great but lacked the attention they deserved. Resident Evil: Village is coming to current and next-gen systems on May 7, so there’s a few months to catch up on the story if you’re trailing behind, and Steam has your back with a huge sale on the franchise. Starting from the chronological beginnings, Resident Evil 0 is available for $4.99, with the very first game in the franchise priced the same. Then, you can pick up the remakes of 2 and 3 in a collected bundle dubbed ‘RACCOON CITY EDITION’ for only $29....

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a very successful anime that premiered in 2011. Its positive reception spawned a mobile game, a movie, and most recently, a spinoff called Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Side Story. Despite being a magical girl series, this show is known for its dark elements and grim outlook on what it really means to be a mahou shoujo, or magical girl. Since this show is a cult favorite, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players were bound to make designs based off the costumes of the girls....

One our favorite aspects of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the various events, animals, plants, etc… that are available only for limited times that correlate to a given season or time of year. Each new event feels like a new experience which only adds to the insane playability of the game. With wedding season underway, players have the opportunity to obtain heart crystals only available during this particular season. As stated previously, heart crystals can only be obtained during the wedding season which runs through all of June....

This just in: Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ free Summer update, coming on July 3rd, will let players swim and dive in the ocean to collect new items and meet new friends. New “mermaid” furniture will be craftable. Even Gulliver, the perpetually unlucky seagull sailor, is getting an upgrade with the new patch. The most notable part of the update, however, might be the inclusion of Pascal the Sea Otter, who will trade items he’s dug up to the player in exchange for delicious scallops....

With the introduction of swimming and diving in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players have so much more to do. There’s a whole new tab in the critterpedia which allows players to collect all the new and cool deep-sea creatures. Moreover, there’s also a selection of wet suits that players can buy from the store, including Nook Stop. It was also a comeback for island visitor Pascal. However, diving isn’t as simple as it appears to be....

Part of the charm of the Animal Crossing series has always been the player’s first introduction to their new home, whether that home is a new town, island, or city. Older titles, like Wild World and New Leaf, gave the player very little control over what their new home would look like. Other than choosing the approximate location of their house (and it was very approximate), players have no control over where flowers, plots, or shops end up....

When the Animorphs graphic novels were first announced, no one could have predicted how well they’d turn out. Would they be new versions of the old stories? Anthem will prove a massive departure from the typical games BioWare is known to produce in recent memory, in more ways than one. But one of the more significant, but not necessarily surprising ways Anthem is diverging is that it will not feature romances. Confirmed today as part of the big Anthem showcase at E3, BioWare revealed that romances would not be included in the game – but something better might be retained instead....
