The poor Gill Man never had a chance. Arriving six years after the golden age of Universal Horror was capped with Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, 1954’s The Creature from the Black Lagoon was never able to clumsily shuffle his way into the expanded universe shared by Dracula, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster, and, if briefly, The Invisible Man. Of course, given the three-film franchise’s contemporary time frame and American setting, it would’ve been a stretch anyway to find some reason to have him mix it up with the Wolf Man....

With several Star Wars projects currently in the pipeline, Disney has been on a mission to sign on some of the best minds in the film and television industry to assist with the growth of the franchise. According to a previous report by The Hollywood Reporter, one of the company’s major recruits is director J.D. Dillard, the creative mind behind the 2016 film Sleight. He had reportedly been approached by the company to take on a rumored Star Wars ‘Exegol project’, which could very well be in the works at the moment....

Abzu is getting a rare physical edition for Nintendo Switch courtesy of Super Rare Games who specializes in physical releases of digital games. The news was announced yesterday by the Super Rare Games Twitter account who revealed that it would be working with publisher 505 Games to release a physical version of the game. It also announced that the game will also launch alongside a steelbook Switch version for those that like having pretty steelbooks to look at....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the best Nintendo Switch games to have released so far. The game offers some of the most unique gameplay in the simulation genre and has introduced thousands of new games to the genre. Veteran players of the series do feel a bit cheated, though, as it seems like for everything that was added, a core piece of content was removed from the game....

Season 6 for Apex Legends is out, and the new legend, Rampart, has joined the battle royale. Respawn has made changes to legends in hopes of shifting the meta and the legends that reign at the top level. The balance team at Respawn does a great job of buffing and nerfing characters, but there will always be legends that outperform others. Fans that play ranked, or players who just want an easier time destroying public lobbies, may want an edge on the competition, and there’s no better edge than playing the best legends....

The Mastiff shotgun may be receiving a change in Apex Legends in the near future. Respawn Entertainment’s high-octane battle royale is constantly being updated and tweaked both in terms of content and gameplay improvements. Recently a patch was implemented into Apex Legends, but there are still areas of the game where players would like to see improvement. The Mastiff shotgun is one weapon that might be adjusted sometime soon. Season 8 of the battle royale is very much in motion, as Apex Legends is currently celebrating its three-year anniversary....

Art Of The Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edtion, featuring hundreds of never-before-seen works of art from the series, is now available for pre-order. BioWare, the developer of the Mass Effect series, first teamed up with Dark Horse Comics in 2012 to release The Art of the Mass Effect Universe which contained 184 pages of art up to Mass Effect 3. Unlike the previous version, this updated book will host 272 pages of images from all three Mass Effect games and their DLCs....
