Season 9 of Apex Legends has brought new events, a new legend, and an old friend in the form of the World’s Edge map. In Season 9 there are currently two maps in rotation for the Battle Royale mode. Olympus, the floating city, is the first map that has been playable since the new season launch. World’s Edge, which hasn’t been seen for a while, has also recently been added. In both maps, there are a lot of areas for you to raid for loot....

Apple unveiled a detailed roadmap of how it plans to combat its carbon footprint, targeting a 75% reduction in emissions by 2030 and developing “innovative carbon removal systems” for the remaining 25%. In addition, there will be changes to how Apple handles its manufacturing process, with the company putting a heavy emphasis on low carbon and recycled materials in its devices. One way the company is driving innovation is “Dave,” a robot capable of disassembling and recovering iPhone components more efficiently than previous models....

In a statement given to Gamasutra today, Arc System Works has revealed that it will be suspending Lab Zero Founder Mike “MikeZ” Zaimont from further work on the upcoming Guilty Gear GGPO update. For those out of the loop, MikeZ has been embroiled in controversy this year after not only making a really bad faith joke on stream but over allegations of abuse by his former employees. Arc System Works had contracted MikeZ shortly after he laid off staff from Lab Zero Games, the developer responsible for Skullgirls and Indivisible....

Guild Wars 2, follow-up to the popular PC only MMO from 2005, might just be getting a console version. That is, if the port moves past the preparation stage. According to an investors call hosted by publisher NCsoft, developer Arena Net is still putting forth all of their efforts into making Guild Wars 2 the best PC MMO yet, but a console version seems very likely. Guild Wars 2, like its predecessor, will be a freemium MMO, but will have a bunch of new features like underwater combat thrown in to bring fans back to the series....

The Assassin’s Creed series took a downturn after the release of Unity, only to experience a resurgence after Origins came around. Valhalla is another epoch of sorts due to the game finishing off storylines that had been carried for some time. It also continues and expands upon the Odyssey style of more open-ended gameplay with light RPG elements. For these reasons, Valhalla’s received ample judgment and critiques regarding ways this entry is considered good—and others in which it’s, well, not so great....

Despite being one of the highest quality and most original animated shows on Netflix right now, not much buzz has surrounded Dreamworks’ Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. Originally a web comic by Radford Sechrist, the show follows a girl raised underground trying to sort out the world above the surface, but that world is far different from the one Kimmy Schmidt emerged to find. It is a world full of enormous mutant animals and plants, a world where humans are just one of many sentient races, and have been forced to live underground so as to not get squashed by skyscraper sized rabbits with extra legs....

When Visceral Games was closed by Electronic Arts, many long-terms fans of the developer were disappointed. After all, Visceral Games had created such beloved titles as the Dead Space series, and its work on an upcoming Star Wars title had been one of the most anticipated games based on the property in some time.
