I can’t deny that I was surprised by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild last year. I hadn’t been impressed with the game since Wind Waker. Wind Waker was amazing! It had story and heart, things that have been missing from Zelda games since then. Until Breath of the Wild. I don’t personally think Breath of the Wild is better than Wind Waker, but it certainly does deserve the celebration it’s been given in the past year....

Sometimes you don’t need to know much about the story in order to enjoy a video game. All you need is the setup, how to play, and you’re good to go. Sure there are games with thought-provoking themes, but more often than not a video game needs to function as a game first. Many modern games attempt to convey a coherent story; a type of narrative for players to be invested into as they play through the game....

It’s been looking for a while like the BioShock series would be coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future, and today 2K Games made it official. But not only is it bringing BioShock to the port-friendly console, it’s bringing two of its other popular franchises, Borderlands and XCOM, to it as well. As announced during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, all three will be making their Switch debut on May 29....

Alongside its full release, the indie platformer Blue Fire unveils a launch trailer showing off its difficult gameplay and gorgeous cel-shaded graphics. Available today, Blue Fire is heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda’s temples and puzzles and combines them with an art style and gameplay reminiscent of Hollow Knight. It’s yet another difficult addition to the platformer genre, but in terms of a good challenge, Blue Fire might take the cake....

Riot Games has just released a character teaser for Jett - the latest VALORANT character to be revealed that is undoubtedly going to lead to a lot of simping. This video showcases some of Jett’s nerdgasm-inducing abilities, all of which are wind-related and centred on agility and speed. Jett can propel herself upwards using Updraft to hop onto the more hard-to-reach spots, with ease, dash forward at a sonic speed using Tailwind, and disorientate her enemies with a burst of swirling fog from her Cloudburst ability....

The post wasn’t all bad news though. The Preview Event from August 2020 was extremely beneficial for the studio thanks to feedback from players. Based on that, the studio has already made substantial changes to the game including improved combat, expanding weapon and armor variety, overhauled the crafting system, and continued to add content to the mid and late game. Not only that, fishing was added to the game and the map was expanded to include a new region called Reekwater....
