It seems like Animal Crossing: New Horizons is more true-to-life than we realize. A Twitter user noticed that liquids were prohibited on planes in the game, and in the real world, this ban was instated in 2006 after the uncovering of a terrorist plot. The ban within the game implies that something similar (or even the same event) happened in the game as well.
